William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet Film in Concert
Event Details
Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Baz Luhrmann’s iconic 1996 film with William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet Film in Concert, a live cinematic concert experience featuring a big-screen presentation of the film elevated with live music. As the film plays on screen, a hybrid ensemble performs the soundtrack and score live in sync with the action, animating the vibrant world of Verona Beach.
More than a traditional night at the movies, the production brings the film’s romance, chaos, and emotional intensity off the screen and into the theater.
Directed by Baz Luhrmann and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes, William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet reimagined the classic for a new generation with its stylized visuals, modern energy, and unforgettable soundtrack featuring Des’ree’s “Kissing You,” The Cardigans’ “Lovefool,” Radiohead’s “Talk Show Host,” and Garbage’s “#1 Crush.”
Developed in collaboration with Disney Concerts, William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet Film in Concert is a bold fusion of film, music, and live performance.
