🚨 Traffic Advisory: Charles Street Promenade

The Charles Street Promenade will take place on Saturday, June 6, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM. During the event, Charles Street will be closed to vehicle traffic between Saratoga Street and North Avenue.

Road closures are expected to begin as early as 6:00 PM on Friday, June 5, and remain in effect until approximately 9:00 PM on Saturday, June 6. While vehicles may be permitted to cross Charles Street at select intersections, increased traffic and delays should be expected throughout the Mount Vernon area.

Guests attending Planet K Pop on Friday evening and the sold-out Kevin Langue performance on Saturday are encouraged to allow extra travel time when arriving at the venue.

Our recommended parking facility, the Fitzgerald Garage, will remain accessible via I-83, Maryland Avenue, and Mt. Royal Avenue. Guests are encouraged to plan ahead, use alternate routes when possible, and consider public transportation.

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, beginning at approximately 9:00 p.m., there will be temporary lane and ramp closures along the Jones Falls Expressway /I-83 for bridge painting and graffiti removal. Northbound and southbound Jones Falls Expressway / I-83 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between the 29th Street access ramp and Guilford Avenue. These lane closures will remain in effect until approximately 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026, weather permitting.

The following ramps will also be temporarily closed during this time, with detours in place:

  • North Avenue ramp to southbound Jones Falls Expressway / I-83
  • Maryland Avenue exit ramp from southbound Jones Falls Expressway / I-83
  • Charles Street ramp to northbound Jones Falls Expressway / I-83

As work progresses on the bridge overhead, crews will shift lane closures along the expressway throughout the operation so motorists traveling in the area should expect shifting traffic patterns and possible delays within the work zone.

These closures appear to have been scheduled to start immediately after the previously announced Charles Street Promenade-related closures. Drivers are encouraged to allow additional travel time and consider alternate routes when driving in Baltimore City throughout the weekend.
