Lyric Baltimore was originally designed to evoke the historical grandeur, artistic decoration, classically derived detailing, and acoustically sound design of European music halls from the late 19th century. As part of the National Register of Historic Places, the Lyric has hosted legendary acts, including Prince, the Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Diana Ross, Aretha Franklin, Chris Rock, Robin Williams, David Byrne, Alvin Ailey, the Metropolitan Opera, and Baltimore’s own Stavros Halkias.
