Become a Lyric Theater Volunteer
As a Lyric Baltimore volunteer, you must be a dedicated and committed individual who wants to enrich the lives of others in the community. Volunteers are asked to serve as ambassadors of the Lyric Foundation, supporting the Lyrics mission, objectives and operations of our beautiful historic theater as well as a support role in our educational efforts.
Volunteer Usher Responsibilities
- Volunteer Ticket takers and Ushers enjoy interacting with the general public and must be willing to assist in an emergency and have a passion for live entertainment. Ticket takers and Ushers join us before each performance begins and are asked to stay throughout the show to scan tickets, distribute programs, assist guests to their seats, and answer questions. We also ask Volunteers to greet and welcome patrons as they enter and thank customers for attending an event as they leave the facility. We encourage our volunteers to commit to 2 shifts per month, or more, if willing.
- You must arrive 90+ minutes before a performance to assist with pre-show preparation and attend the front of house pre-how meeting
- Interact with and proactively approach patrons
- Assist the Front of House Manager and/or Manager on Duty with various duties, including but not limited to rare emergencies
